Record revenue in the café’s weakest season

Marmelad Café case-study cover with the client-reported 200% average-check result.
01

Context

At kickoff, 30 days of content reached 823 accounts; TikTok did not exist.

Point A: 530 Instagram followers, 823 accounts reached in 30 days and 80 posts already published.

02

Constraint

The café had one room, no terrace and a dead season. Content could not create more seats than the venue had.

  • One room and the dead season: no terrace and no seasonal drinks.
  • One venue capped how many guests content could seat, so the plan was built a month ahead against real capacity.

04

Execution

The content was built to create reach, trust and a reason to visit — without outrunning the café’s real capacity.

  • First TikTok traction: 698.4K views on one video while the account had 928 followers.
  • The profile showed repeated posts from 2.1M and 1.2M views downward, not one isolated hit.
  • One Instagram post was shared 7,000 times, reached 211,542 views and generated 1,206 profile actions; 98.2% of viewers did not follow the café.

Proof limits

What this case does not claim.

  • In the wind-down months, paid promotion carried 38.3% of Instagram views.
  • The +200% average-check and record-revenue figures are the owner’s figures.
  • “#1 in the city” is the owner’s wording, not an audit.
08

In their words

“The content was current and on-trend, which grew our reach and brought in more than a thousand followers.”
“Professionalism, creativity, and an understanding of the audience.”

How we worked

The month was planned in advance, shot in batches and reviewed in writing against reach, engagement and what came next.

  • Monthly plan built a month ahead.
  • Batch shoots with direct on-camera involvement.
  • Written reports on reach, views, engagement, what ran and what comes next.
  • Client time: about 6 hours a week on set, in street and café locations.

The source records a full handover in September 2025. It later notes three cheaper teams, growth stopping and then reversing; playbook and training now ship with the work.
